What was the situation like before?
Bella’s self-harmed scars were healed 3 years ago at a Bethel Austin Young Adults retreat. At the retreat, Bella learned to no longer believe in the lies and depression that caused the scars. When she would see the scars, it would remind her of her past causing her shame. She would think about how she would explain them to her future husband .
What did God do?
The last night of the retreat was filled with excitement and the room was filled with the Presence of God and prayer. Someone in the room called out for prayer for anyone who had scars on their body either from self-harm or surgery. Bella asked for prayer and a group of people surrounded her laying their hands on her shoulder and arms and they prayed with faith and expectation that something was going to happen. After they prayed and as people in the room were being healed, she went to the bathroom to check on her body to see if the scars were gone.
What is the situation like now?
That was a special moment for her with God as she saw that He loved her so much to remove the scars as if it never happened. Bella felt so much purity at that moment. She went back to the worship room and told her testimony of how God loves her so much that He removed the hurtful images of her past and filled her heart with His love.
